This map was hand lettered and based on a map I’d done a couple of years ago.  I’ve adapted it slightly adding annotations – mixing local history with personal history and knowledge.  Maps are amazing, always changing and showing the times and culture of the mapmaker themselves…

New Painting

A recent new painting in a series based around traditional stories in contemporary settings.  I wanted to see how few symbols the viewer needed to read the image and relate to stories that are part of the Western culture.  For some reason they seem to be featuring women who are waiting for something to happen…See the picture of sleeping beauty in an earlier post….

30-Brighton shop window auction trail

 I’m busy during May, exhibiting one of these cosmetic posters at the Bead shop as part of the artists open houses auction trail.
